The definition of Art is the conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colors, forms, movements, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty. I have been creating beauty since 1991 in the form of decorative painting (aka Tole Painting) in acrylics. In 1998, another medium/techique was introduced to me - Pen & Ink with Rouged Oils. I believe that painting is very therapeutic; the social aspect of attending classes, making new friends, helps too. It is my firm belief that anyone
can paint when given the right inspiration. It is a wonderous sight when a student (beginner or advanced) finishes a project to realize that they have
produced something beautiful.
I caught the "painting bug" at my first class which was with Donna Wood, in my home town of Merrimack, NH. Since that first class back in 1993, I have taken classes from Deanne Fortnam(MDA), Barbara Watson(MDA), Mary McLean(CDA), Peggy Harris, Betty Caithness, Mary Owens, and Sue Miller (CDA), just to name a few. I have brought back many new ideas and techniques from several conventions such as HOOT/Columbus, Ohio, Mountain Magic (for those who remember), New England Traditions/Providence, RI and the Creative Painting Convention/Las Vegas, NV.
I have been a member of the Society of Decorative Painters' and the White Mountain Decorative Painters' Guild since 1993. I have held several positions on the board of the WMDPG; currently I am the Secretary for 2007.

I offer classes in Acrylics and Pen/Ink with Rouged Oils to all levels of students. I also offer Oil painting classes for the beginner. In addition to teaching out of my home, you can find me teaching at AC Moore in Manchester, NH.
